About TERRA

Be part of the change!

We understand that people and projects can face many challenges when wanting to implement or transition to an ecologically regenerative approach. It can be difficult to find the right information on which methods to use, along with finding a good path for your unique vision and context.

Our aim is to support the creation of abundant agro-ecosystems. By working with nature, and using the principles and practices of syntropic farming, we can implement truly regenerative strategies on the land.

Syntropic agroforestry is showing huge potential for mitigating climate change, providing ecosystem services and creating a resilient way of growing food and other products. The magic of this method is that regeneration and farming go hand in hand, along with reintegrating humans into their ecology.

TERRA Network provides a training path to build skills at every stage of the journey. Through expert education, design, implementation and training, we work with you to make the dream for your farm into a reality.

TERRA is also creating a network of projects that co-operate together, with the aim of increasing the value and availability of produce grown in a regenerative way. By raising awareness about these practices, we hope to educate consumers that by choosing ecologically beneficial products, they participate in a powerful environmental and political act. Lets work together to create a way of farming that works with nature!

What does TERRA stand for?

“Transition for Ecological Reintegration and Reskilling in Agriculture”

What we do

To assist projects and farmers to successfully implement regenerative practices and create productive agro-ecosystems.

TERRA aims to connect people to the information they need, as well as to consultants and educators with the relevant experience and climate-specific expertise.

From the foundational knowledge through to production and marketing, the TERRA Network was established to support the growing need for building skills and connectivity within this field.

These are the pillars of TERRA´s work:

  • Providing high-quality education and training from specialised teachers and technicians, we can save you time and money, by working with those who have already spent many years designing and implementing syntropic systems.

  • We support farmers to produce high-quality products and goods while maintaining a focus on producing measurable positive impacts on their ecosystems.

  • We are developing a platform to help farmers to sell their products, by creating a trusted network that consumers can use to discover high-quality, environmentally friendly products, bringing greater visibility to farmers work.

  • We are continually refining our techniques across various contexts and biomes. To further our efforts, we actively seek partnerships with universities and other institutions to research the impacts on soil life, quality and fertility, biodiversity, water resources, socio-economic factors, and more.

  • Our goal is to connect potential funding opportunities with the projects that really need them.

We have a strong commitment to strengthening opportunities for the next generation of educators, farmers, product developers, consultants, researchers and documenters - facilitating the connections to many levels of employment within the regenerative and syntropic agriculture space.

The Meaning of “Terra”

“Terra” is the Latin word for our planet, the living earth that is our home. It is the solid ground on which we stand and the fertile soil on which we depend.

Terra, as the living soil, gives us the food that sustains us, the wood for our fuel and for building, the plants we need for our medicines, the fibres for our clothing, and many other necessities for life that we can plant and harvest. It is the place where we build our homes and communities. Terra is the matrix which connects us all together.

Fertile soil is the foundation of our existence as a species. It is the only ground on which we can build true resilience and abundance, by being deeply rooted in the living earth and her processes.

As a civilisation we have distanced ourselves from our function of being an integral part of the ecosystem and increasing the natural resources - instead we are degrading the soil and the environment to which we owe our very existence.

Yet we know that by aligning with nature and changing our agricultural practices, we can simultaneously regenerate our soils as well as provide for our human needs. Thus, to produce and consume in a regenerative way, is an act of reintegrating ourselves as positive elements into the ecology in which we are embedded.
